SAN ANTONIO – The YMCA of Greater San Antonio on Sunday is holding its 12th Siclovia, a free event that aims to provide the community with a safe and fun area in which they can improve their health.
The route will span 2.6 miles, beginning at Mahnke Park, from Broadway to McCullough, where people can experience the city on temporarily car-free streets.
The event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. at Roosevelt Park at 331 Roosevelt Avenue and will run until 4 p.m.
More than 70,000 people are expected to attend. Participants must follow the rules of the road, which include wearing a helmet while cycling and keeping pets on a leash.
There will be stopping points along the route that will include water, first aid, exercise classes, kid-friendly activities and more.
Those interested can access the route via the Siclovia app, which is available for iOS and Android devices.
