The 103-year-old zoo is well-known for connecting with the community and, in the past, has offered free or discounted admission to members of the military and teachers.

By offering the nearly 50 percent savings, the zoo said it hopes to widen its accessibility and show its desire to connect the community with nature and conservation.

The zoo said the discounted admission tickets must be purchased at the front gate and are only valid on Tuesday, from noon until 6 p.m.
