Senior Softball League donates $2,500 to SA Food Bank

Athletes raise money during games

SAN ANTONIO – Hundreds of athletes rewarded the San Antonio Food Bank for its response after Hurricane Harvey.

The San Antonio Senior Softball League and its 700 active players raised $2,500 in donations for the food bank.

The money will do more than just help with relief efforts.

“The holidays are approaching, so we're trying to get donations in to help keep our shelves stocked,” said Chloe Palacios, corporate giving manager for the food bank.

League players collected the donations at each of their games over the past two weeks.
