SAN ANTONIO – Joy and hope served as the foundation for Saturday’s special celebration that was organized for children in need of transplants.
A holiday party was organized by Transplants for Children. The event recognized each child’s journey through the process of waiting for a transplant.
Along with special gifts came a message from ex-NFL player Rance Olison, who is awaiting his own heart transplant.
Olison currently wears a special implant that helps pump his blood.
“That’s what I want the babies to understand today when I finish up speaking, that they're not alone and that they have a superior being will take them to point A to point B,” Olison said.
Transplants for Children helps 400 families a year.
