Recall Roundup: Car seats, infant toys, dining chairs recalled

Safety tests reveal car seats may not protect in crash

SAN ANTONIO – More than a half-million convertible and booster car seats made by Diono have been recalled because safety tests showed they may not adequately protect kids in a crash.

The recall covers the Radian R100, R120 and RXT models as well as Olympia, Pacifica and Rainier seats.  They were made from January 2014 to September 2017.

Diono was formerly called Sunshine Kids Juvenile.

According to government tests and documents, when the seats are secured with a lap belt without the top tether, children who weigh more than 65 pounds have an increased risk of being injured in a crash.

The company said it has no reports of injuries. Diono will send owners an energy-absorbing pad and new chest clip.
