Pa. home for sale modeled after castle in Spain

Real estate fit for royalty a rare opportunity

A 15,000-square-foot home for sale in Pennsylvania was modeled after a castle in Spain.

It can't be used for commercial purposes, according to the township's zoning laws. It's a home -- a replica of El Castillo de los Mendoza on the market for $1.69 million.

"The opportunity is one of a kind," realtor Mary Ann Pastore told WBRE. "The view is spectacular."

The owner has spent years building the castle, WBRE reported, but "unforeseen events" forced him to put it on the market before completing the project. The outside still needs to be covered with natural stone and the inside is full of "potential," the realtor said.

"The rooms here are enormous," Pastore said.

The property overlooks a lake and includes 25 acres of land, WBRE reported.

"This castle will stand for centuries and will be a landmark to the area," Pastore said.
