SAN ANTONIO – Parents of children who will start kindergarten in 2016-17 are invited to get a jump start on next school year by registering them during Kindergarten Roundup.
Registration will be held at the school the child will attend from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on March 8-10. Extended evening hours will run until 7 p.m. on March 10.

To qualify, the child must be 5 years old by Sept. 1.
Applications will also be taken for SAISD's full-day Pre-K program for children 3 or 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016. Four-year-olds will be given first priority.
The Roundup will also provide parents and their children opportunities to learn about educational opportunities, including extracurriculars, enrichment activities and clubs.
To register, parents must bring:
- Their government-issued photo ID
- Proof of SAISD residence (utility bill, phone bill, lease agreement, etc.)
- Child's birth certificate or other proof of child's age and identity
- Child's Social Security card, if available
- Child's up-to-date immunization record
