For sale: SAISD selling multiple properties

School district hoping to fund new central office

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Independent School District has a deal for you: The district is placing several properties on the market.

District spokeswoman Leslie Price said with a strong real estate market and the district trying to create additional efficiencies now is a good time to sell old properties.

"We have central office staff across seven different buildings within our district.  So we have over a thousand people dispersed all over in different buildings,” Price said.

There are two multi-acre properties for sale, 12.7 acres off Lord Road on the city’s East Side and a 50 acre plot of land on South Presa near Loop 410.

The money raised will be used to fund a new central office on unused athletic fields at Fox Tech Magnet School downtown as well as offices on Roland Road.

"This would not require a bond. This would not be of any cost to taxpayers, because it is funds from the sale of our own property, and we would build on our own property as well."

The district has hired Transwestern Commercial Real Estate Services to handle the sale of the properties.
