Southwest ISD participates in summer food service program

Free breakfast, lunch for children 18 and younger

SAN ANTONIO – The Southwest Independent School District said it is participating in the summer food service program again this year.

Nutritious meals will be provided to all children who are 18 years old and younger, the district said.

There’s no roll call, no ID or name badge required. The district said the program is open to anyone who is "of school age" and wants or needs a daily meal. SWISD will have several sites open this summer for its community.

Meals will be provided at the following sites and times:

Medio Creek Elementary
8911 Excellence Drive
June 6-23 (Monday through Thursday)
Breakfast: 7:45-8:45 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Southwest Elementary
11914 Dragon Lane, Bldg. 1000
June 6-30 and July 18-Aug. 4 (Monday through Thursday)
Breakfast: 7:30-8:40 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

9th Grade Annex
11914 Dragon Lane, Bldg. 800
June 6-23 (Monday through Thursday)
Breakfast: 7:45-8:45 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Southwest High School
11914 Dragon Lane
June 6-July 15 (Monday through Thursday; Open one Friday: July 15)
Breakfast: 7:45-8:45 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

Hidden Cove Elementary
5102 Trading Post
Aug. 1-3 (Monday through Wednesday)
Breakfast: 7:30-8 a.m.
Lunch: 12-12:30 p.m.

The program begins Monday and ends Aug. 4 at select campuses, the district said.
