SA man, 91, receives GED diploma

Crisanto Luna fulfulls lifelong dream

SAN ANTONIO – Married for 60 years, Crisanto Luna knew he had to find a distraction after his wife passed away.

"My wife passed away, and my life changed," Luna said.

The distraction would be going back to school and getting his diploma.

For the past three years, Luna has been going to Highlands Adult Education Program.

His favorite class was math, and he said he made good grades.

With the help of his teacher and three daughters, Luna was able to accomplish his goal.

On Monday, he was presented with an honorary GED diploma. Luna's family was present when he received his award.

"I'm very proud and excited to reach my goal," Luna said.

Luna said he will further his education by taking another class this fall.

"I want to keep on living, until God calls me," Luna said.

His next goal is running the entire district.

"I want to be superintendent," he said.
