SAISD taking applications for bond committee

2016 Citizens Advisory Committee to inform, advise school board on bond matters

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Independent School District is accepting applications for people interested in serving on the district's Bond 2016 Citizens Advisory Committee.

The 24-member committee will inform and advise school board trustees on matters relating to the bond program, including ideas to ensure effective and efficient use of bond money. The committee will also provide feedback to staff, review progress reports and report recommendations to the board.

The committee will be composed of 21 SAISD residents and three at-large representatives from business and community organizations located in the district.

Each trustee will nominate three members. The at-large representatives will be nominated by the superintendent and approved by trustees.

Members will serve a two-year term. At the end of the term, each trustee and the superintendent may renominate the appointees or nominate new members.

Applications are available online or at the Governmental & Community Relations Department at 518 East Magnolia, and at the superintendent's office at 141 Lavaca. 

Completed applications may be emailed, mailed or delivered to the Government & Community Relations Department.

Applications are due by Feb. 10.
