SAN ANTONIO – About 100 local high school students paid a visit Thursday to the University of Texas at San Antonio to help prepare themselves for higher education.
The tour was a part of a partnership between the U.S. Army and the LULAC National Education Service Centers that aims to help students prepare for education and career success.
The students got a look at academic buildings, classrooms and lunchrooms.
"So far, it looks really lively. Just seeing all these people, and the scenery looks really nice," Jonah Hernandez, a junior at Madla Early College High School, said. "I like big campuses. It looks like it has a lot to offer."
The students also had a chance to hear past success stories from faculty members.
