Hundreds of parents and guardians on Friday attended the 16th annual Parent Engagement Conference hosted by the North East Independent School District.
The conference touched on social media safety, how to teach literacy and math skills, how to build resilience in children and a college fair.
The sessions took place in a classroom setting, where parents worked in groups.
Motivational speaker Anne Grady was the keynote speaker.
"Parents, families, staff, we all go through a lot, so it's easy to get knocked down, it's easy to get burnt out, but there are skills that you can use to not only get back up, but get back up stronger and better as a result," she said.
More than 30 NEISD family specialists from three high schools, seven middle schools and 22 elementary schools coordinated the conference.
