In a brief statement, the district declined to elaborate on the complaint, saying it was a “personnel issue.”

Roane was hired to lead the district in July 2015.

During that time, the district has faced several controversial topics, including plans to buy the city’s independent newspaper, which were later abandoned. As well as plans to build the largest high school football video board in the country without a funding source. Last month, the school board voted unanimously to fund the million-plus dollar Jumbotron with a one-time withdraw from the district's general operating fund.
