Trinity, UTSA first-year students move into dorms

Thousands gear up for 2017-2018 school year

SAN ANTONIO – Thousands of first-year students at Trinity University and the University of Texas at San Antonio moved into their residence halls Friday.

New students at Trinity were welcomed by more than 150 staff and faculty members, students and alumni who unloaded vehicles and carried students' belongings to their rooms.

"(It) really does give that sense of Trinity is about connection, and that's a huge difference in everything that students will accomplish," said Trinity University President Danny Anderson.

Several transfer students at UTSA were thrilled to start classes at their dream school.

"There's a lot of great energy here, a lot of fun stuff to do," said Sam Perine, a new UTSA student.

"I like their traditions and their diversity here on campus," said  Frida Basan, another new UTSA student.
