According to authorities, the man entered the Stop and Shop Deli in Brentwood on Sept. 25 demanding money from an employee and then fired a shot into the wall.

The employee pulled a machete from under the counter and chased the armed man through the parking lot, running him off.

The suspect was described as a young black man with a thin build, wearing a gray mask, a black running style top with white stripes on the sleeves, dark pants and black and white sneakers.

Cops said he was carrying a black Air Jordan backpack and a silver .22-caliber pistol.
