ANAHEIM, Calif. – Disneyland will be making big changes next month to accommodate for new “Star Wars” attractions.
Four attractions will be closing indefinitely and six attractions will be closed temporarily while Disney makes the renovations.
Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland will be renovated to make room for the 14-acre “Star Wars” area. The popular Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster will remain open.
Disney purchased Lucasfilm and the “Star Wars” franchise in 2012 for $4 billion.
No completion date has been announced and few details have been released about what changes will be made to the new area. However, Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger said fans could expect a recreation of the Millennium Falcon.
