“And the award for worst movie goes to…”

The 36th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards -- or Razzies for short -- are scheduled for Feb. 27.

The tacky awards ceremony is “the foremost authority on all things that suck on the big screen,” according to E! On-Line.  In short, it recognizes the worst achievements in film from the preceding year.

The ceremony is light-hearted and held in fun -- more of a parody of the Golden Globes, rather than a roasting of actors and films.

The Razzies have gained popularity over the years with big-name actors showing up unexpectedly to receive their Golden Raspberry in person.

Halle Berry accepted her Razzie for “Catwoman,” in person in 2005, and Sandra Bullock accepted hers in 2010 for “All About Steve.”

This years nominees for the Golden Raspberry Awards worst picture are “Fantastic Four,” “Fifty Shades of Grey,” “Jupiter Ascending,” “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2,” and “Pixels.”

Nominees for worst actor are Johnny Depp for “Mortdecai,” Jamie Dornan for “Fifty Shades of Grey,” Kevin James for “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2,” Adam Sandler for “The Cobbler” and “Pixels,” and lastly Channing Tatum for “Jupiter Ascending.”

The worst actress nominees are Katherine Heigel for “Home Sweet Hell,” Dakota Johnson for “Fifty Shades of Grey,” Mila Kunis for “Jupiter Ascending,” Jennifer Lopez for “The Boy Next Door,” and Gwyneth Paltrow for “Mortdecai.”

The Razzies also hand out a trophy for improvement, called the Razzie Redeemer Award.  This year, the four people up for redemption are Elizabeth Banks, M. Night Shyamalan, Will Smith and Sylvester Stallone.
