Boston Symphony allowing iPads during performances

Ticket holders to be provided with devices

BOSTON – The Boston Symphony is adding a bit of tech edge to Friday performances this year.

According to a Boston.com report, ticket holders in designated sections will be provided iPads loaded with exclusive content relative to the evening's performance, including video interviews, podcasts and more.

Concert-goers will be invited to wear more casual clothing, and tickets will be cheaper than most nights, the Boston.com story said.

The first "Casual Friday" was Friday and featured bass trombonist James Markey.
