Celebrations coming to the Alamo City


SAN ANTONIO11th Street Cowboy Mardi Gras

This New Orleans inspired celebration takes place over three days in Bandera, Texas. The Mardi Gras theme carries into the live performances, costume contests and gumbo cook off.

The 11th Street Cowboy Bar will host the events starting Thursday, Jan. 28 –- 30. Weekend passes are $45, and tickets for individual days can also be purchased online.

San Antonio Asian Festival

This family-friendly event features traditional Asian dance, musical performances, henna painting, palm reading and craft sales, including clothing, dolls and works of art.

Fifteen food vendors will be on site to provide authentic Japanese, Korean, Thai, Laotian and Philippine dishes.

The festival takes place Feb. 13 at the University of Texas at San Antonio Hemisfair Campus and celebrates of the beginning of the Chinese New Year. The upcoming year will be the Year of the Monkey.

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo

The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo will be Feb. 11 -- 28. Some of the headliners include Toby Keith, Jason Derulo, Alan Jackson and Martina McBride. 

There will be a carnival, tons of food vendors, and horse and livestock shows. The rodeo includes barrel racing, team roping, bull riding and more.

The CineFestival is the longest-running original Latino film festival in the U.S. The 38th annual film festival will take place from Feb. 19 -- 27 at Guadalupe Theater. 

There will be screenings, panel discussions, musical performances and networking opportunities throughout the week.
