America names its favorite movie star

"The Bridge of Spies" actor is a previous winner

Tom Hanks is America’s favorite actor according to a new poll. He also won the title in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2013.

Hank’s latest film “The Bridge of Spies” is nominated for six Oscars, including best picture.

Johnny Depp comes in second according to the poll. He played Whitey Bulger in last years “Black Mass.”

Despite his absence from the movie screen last year, Denzel Washington is America’s third favorite star.

Washington received the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes on Jan. 10. Previous winners of the coveted award include George Clooney, Morgan Freeman, Jack Nicholson and Audrey Hepburn.

Finishing out the top five are John Wayne and Harrison Ford. Ford starred in 2015’s blockbuster “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Wayne is the only actor who has never dropped off the top ten list in the two decades since the poll originated, according to Theharrispoll.com.
