The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo officially kicks off Thursday at noon, when the carnival opens.

Be sure to watch "Good Morning San Antonio" from 4:30 to 7:30 a.m. for a live preview of opening day from the grounds at Freeman Coliseum.
We'll also be live on KSAT 12 News at Noon, KSAT 12 News at 5 and the KSAT Six O'Clock News.

Plenty of folks are expected to fill the AT&T Center grounds over the next two plus weeks.
“San Antonio always does a really good job of putting this event on. It is cool to come to this town and do some sightseeing,” Alexis Stephas, a rodeo competitor said. “So it is good to be here.”
Sears also continued his tradition of tasting the new foods at the rodeo. He was joined by Miss Rodeo America.
From pork tenderloin steak, fried bologna sandwich and tres leches cake for dessert the pair dined their way across the grounds and gave the food two thumbs up.
