Legendary rock band Metallica sets SA summer concert date

Metallica to play at Alamodome on June 14

Legendary rock band Metallica is scheduled to perform this summer in San Antonio during the group’s upcoming North American tour.

Metallica will play at the Alamodome on June 14. Avenged Sevenfold will be the main support act for the San Antonio show.

Metallica’s WorldWired 2017 tour kicks off on May 10 in Baltimore.

The tour marks the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Grammy Award-winning band’s first official North American tour since 2009.

The band’s newest album "Hardwired…To Self-Destruct" was released on Nov. 18 and it debuted No.1 around the world.

Other Texas shows scheduled are June 11 at NRG Stadium in Houston and June 16 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
