'The Bachelor' Finale Blog: Nick gets down on one knee in season 21 finale

Fourth time is a charm for "Bachelor" repeat

SAN ANTONIO – Well folks, another season of “The Bachelor” has come to an end. I have to start by saying I feel like this season was boring and super predictable. For once I would love for someone to come in and really shake things up. Sadly, Nick was not that guy. But let’s be honest, did anyone actually think he would be? I think most would agree this season was definitely lackluster.

Moving on to the finale, Nick’s been here before, not once but twice. This time he was concerned about his proposal being rejected. He can't catch a break. If it's not one thing it's another.

Meanwhile, we learned two things during Nick’s family time with Raven and Vanessa. First, they are super protective of him. Second, they are worried he will get hurt. If this sounds familiar, that's because we have seen it in pretty much every previous season. Is it wrong that I wanted Nick's family to shake some sense into him?

As for the ladies, Raven was super sweet and Vanessa was intense. I'm proud of Vanessa for asking the hard questions, but come on, she kept saying the same things and repeating the same questions. Shocker, she didn’t get any of the answers she was looking for.

Now let’s head to Finland for the final dates. Can we talk about how beautiful it is there! The finale settings are always over the top, but this one really blew me away. I'm already planning my next vacation there.

Vanessa’s date started with time with Santa. Too bad their childhood fantasies were short lived. Fear of the unknown raised more questions. Once again she was looking for answers, and once again she didn’t get them. It's clear she's serious about her feelings for Nick, but they argue so much. I feel like it’s a recipe for a short-lived relationship.

Raven’s time with Nick played out much differently. She was carefree, lighthearted and all smile. Her genuine positivity is contagious. Most importantly she's all in. Despite her fantasy suite antics, she’s my favorite.

The rose ceremony was hard to watch. Raven's rejection was one of the worst I’ve seen on this show. I just wanted to give her a hug. She was classy and took it like a champ. Her exit interview was heartbreaking. I can’t help but think she deserves someone way better than Nick! I can’t wait to watch her on "Bachelor in Paradise."

I had so many mixed emotions during Nick’s proposal to Vanessa. My husband looked at me and asked, "What are you thinking?" My answer was very simple. I just liked Raven more. I know this is not the popular opinion. I know a lot of people were cheering for Vanessa to win. I'm not saying Vanessa's not great. There's just a gentleness to Raven that made her extra special.

Watching Nick and Vanessa on “After the Final Rose” was strange to me. They didn’t seem very excited to be together or crazy in love. When asked about plans for a wedding, they said they are taking baby steps. I wonder what that means. Guess only time will tell.

Next up "The Bachelorette"! I'm so excited it's Rachel. She is a lot of fun! I can’t believe her season started during “After the Final Rose.” The four guys she met seemed very average to me. I hope more interesting suitors are coming her way. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Her journey to find love begins in May on KSAT 12!
