ARLINGTON, Iowa – Chris Soules is in police custody after getting into a deadly car crash in Iowa, a spokesperson for the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office tells ET.
According to police, the former star of The Bachelor -- who is from Arlington, Iowa -- fled the scene of a car collision that resulted in a death. Soules -- who appeared on season 19 of The Bachelor in 2015 and was also a contestant on Dancing With the Stars -- was arrested at 1:16 a.m. on Tuesday morning and is currently still in jail.

The Iowa State Patrol crash report claims that Soules was driving a Chevy pickup truck when when he allegedly rear-ended a John Deere tractor trailer.
The person driving the tractor trailer was taken in an ambulance to the hospital, where they died.
Soules' representative declined comment.
Last month, ET spoke with Soules about the possibility of him joining ABC's Bachelor in Paradise. "I've already been asked, and I don't know what to do," he confessed.
