Plenty of tacos, beer and music on tap this weekend

Weekend Wrap for May 12-14

SAN ANTONIO – This weekend is a perfect one for foodies, beer snobs and music fans alike!

Fiesta Noche Del Rio: The summer outdoor performance series begins Friday night. Songs and dances of Mexico, Spain, Argentina and Texas will be performed every Friday and Saturday night through Aug. 12 at the Arneson River Theatre.

Twisted Taco Truck Throwdown: The annual event will feature dozens of taco trucks competing for the best tacos al pastor. The event is Saturday from 3 p.m. to midnight at VFW Post 76. Admission is free. 

San Antonio Beer Week Kickoff Party: Beer will be celebrated for a week in San Antonio and the kickoff party is Sunday. This party will take place at Main Plaza from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Following the party, events will be held around town through May 21.

NY Dog Film Festival: The traveling film festival will be at the Tobin Center on Saturday at 7 p.m. and 9 pm. Two different programs of short films will be shown. Tickets are $15 for humans and $5 for dogs.

Chevelle live at the Aztec: The popular rock band comes back to San Antonio. The group has been performing since the 1990s. They take the stage at the Aztec Theatre on Saturday. Tickets are still available. 

Aaron Lewis: The former front man of rock band Staind is now singing country. He will be performing at Floore's Country Store. Tickets are still available.

Frankie Valli: With classic hits like "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Walk Line a Man," the legendary singer and the Four Seasons will perform at the Majestic Theatre on Sunday. Tickets are still available.

Dennis Quaid and the Sharks: Actor and musician Dennis Quaid brings his band to Gruene Hall on Saturday and next Thursday. Sunday's show is sold out but tickets are still available for Thursday.

Kiefer Sutherland: Actor and musician Kiefer Sutherland is also bringing his country music to Gruene Hall. Sutherland will perform on Sunday. The show is sold out.
