5 fun events to check out in the San Antonio area this weekend
Weekend wrap of events for Nov. 8-10
San Antonio – Get into the holiday spirit with some of the events taking place this weekend.
Also, Luminaria will light up Hemisfair.
Here’s a list of events taking place:
Jalapeñazo Festival: This free event will take place Saturday at Market Square. There will be music, food, and fun for the entire family. Tejano artists Bobby Pulido and Masorre will be performing.
Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival: This illuminated art installation will take place Saturday at Hemisfair. There will be installations and performances from over 50 local, national and international artists. This is free to attend.
Country Christmas Ranch Grand Opening: Get into the Christmas spirit at this drive-thru light trail. The grand opening starts at 6 p.m. and will then be open 7 days a week. There will also be pictures with Santa, a fenced play area and food in the 4,000-square-foot barn on Friday and Saturday nights. The Christmas Ranch is located at 1045 CR 317 in La Vernia.
Santa’s Ranch: This drive-thru Christmas light trail will open on Friday and stay open until Jan. 4. Over 1.5 million lights are on display in this mile-long trail. Santa’s Ranch is located at 9561 I-35 North in New Braunfels.
7th Annual Texas Kosher BBQ Championship: This event will take place Sunday at 16550 Huebner Road. This event will include live music, barbecue, a kid activity area and a hot dog, jalapeño and pickle eating contests. The event starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. All-you-can-eat tickets are $20 for adults at $10 for children.
