Dinosaurs, comedy, food all a part of weekend events

Weekend Wrap for Aug. 8-13

SAN ANTONIO - It's Tax-Free Weekend, so there aren't as many events as usual, but there is still fun to be had.

Here's a look at some of the events for the weekend of Aug. 11-13:

Carlos Mencia: The famous comedian will perform at the Laugh Out Loud comedy club all weekend, starting Friday. Tickets are still available. 

Discover the Dinosaurs: This family-friendly event takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall. This interactive event features up-close encounters with dinosaurs. Tickets are still available. 

Future Now! Tech Fair: Calling all techies to this fair taking place Saturday at The DoSeum. Plenty of interactive activities are planned, including creating your own robot. The Tech Fair is free with DoSeum admission.

Back to School Kids Prom: Right before school starts, take the kids out to a dance party at the Pearl Stable. This is on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are still available. 

Culinaria Restaurant Week: From August 12 through the 26, restaurants around town will be offering discounted three-course dinners. There are options between tier one and tier two restaurants. This is available for both lunch and dinner. Click here, for a look at participating restaurants.
