SAN ANTONIO – If you’re planning to attend A Night in Old San Antonio, you’ll want to be sure you’re only buying food and drink coupons on the NIOSA grounds and at the event gates, officials said Monday.
Anyone who is approached about purchasing food or drink coupons before or during NIOSA should be wary, as there is a possibility that the coupons aren’t legitimate and therefore won’t be valid, event organizers said.

Fraud and counterfeiting are always a concern at festivals and events, officials said in a news release.
Anyone who holds fake or illegally obtained coupons will not be reimbursed and could be subject to a criminal investigation -- and the same goes for anyone selling these fraudulent coupons, event organizers said.
If you’re approached before the event about coupons, you’re asked to call the San Antonio Police Department’s property crimes office at 210-207-7410.
Organizers wanted to point out that admission tickets purchased on the NIOSA website, at the gates or approved venues are valid. It’s the food and drink coupons that are in question.
The 69th presentation of NIOSA will be held April 25 to April 28 at the Fiesta San Antonio® celebration. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and close at 10 p.m.
