The Texas Cavaliers announced another first: The group and their sponsors managed to break a record and raise $1 million to help children in San Antonio.

"That's really exciting for us," 2017 River Parade Marshal Barton Simpson said. "It's a new watermark for us, and hopefully we can continue doing that. That's thanks to our sponsors and Cavaliers of families that give to make that happen."

There will be just over 50 floats this year. The River Parade, which will have more than 50 floats this year, is set to begin Monday at 7 p.m., while Fiesta begins Thursday.
