George Strait will perform in Austin for Frank Erwin Center's 40th anniversary

As a child growing up in Texas, country singer George Strait was involved in Cub Scouts.

AUSTIN, Texas - George Strait fans can catch him in concert at the Frank Erwin Center next summer according to a video announcement he made on Saturday on behalf of the venue.

Strait said he'd perform at Frank Erwin Center to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Few details were released about his Austin performance, but it has George Strait fans anticipating the performance and singing George's praises.

Strait is scheduled to perform at the Majestic Theater on Tuesday as part of a benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

On Tuesday morning, a spokesperson for the Majestic Theater said few tickets to Strait's Hand In Hand benefit concert remained and were going for $1,000.
