Music, menudo, zombie elves all a part of events taking place this weekend

SAN ANTONIO – Music, menudo and zombie elves all in the lineup of events taking place this weekend. Yes, you read that right, zombie elves.

Christmas Zombie Apocalypse: The 13th Floor is putting on this event this Friday and Saturday. A team is formed to be part of a live tactical video game-like experience. You will be armed with replica weapons to defeat the zombie elves and even a zombie Santa. Tickets are available online.

Mike Epps: The comedian/actor will be at the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club Friday and Saturday night. There two shows tonight and three Saturday. Tickets are still available. 

Ray Wylie Hubbard: The Texas Country singer-songwriter will be at Gruene Hall tonight at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20. 

The Bellamy Brothers: Celebrating 40 years of success The Bellamy Brothers will be at Floore's Country Store Friday night. Tickets are $20 advance or $25 day of show. 

Kid's Tamalada: This is taking place at Pico De Gallo on S. Leona Street. Chef Cariño Cortez will teach children the tradition of making tamales on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. It is $25 to attend. 

Winter Wonderland at Market Square: Saturday and Sunday Market Square will host entertainment on two stages, train rides and food. There will also be plenty of opportunities for last -minute shopping.

Menudo Cook Off: The Southside Education Foundation will be holding the first ever Menudo Cook Off to raise money for scholarships. It is from 1 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Mission City Soccer Complex. 

Chanukah on the River 2017: This takes place Sunday at 3 p.m. at Arneson River Theater. An interactive cruise experience is $6 per person. The event will conclude with a Menorah lighting at 5:30 p.m.

La Gran Posada: On Sunday the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower will host this event starting at 7 p.m. This is a traditional Mexican Christmas celebration that includes music and a procession around the interior of the Basilic, in a traditional retelling of the story of the Holy Family's search for Jesus' birthplace.
