Placido Domingo cancels San Antonio show

Show was set for Wednesday at Alamodome Illusions Theatre

SAN ANTONIO – Fans hoping to hear opera legend Placido Domingo will have to wait a little longer.

The maestro's show has been postponed until further notice.

Domingo was set to perform Wednesday night at the Alamodome Illusions Theatre. It was to be the opera great's first show in San Antonio in six years.

A rescheduled date has not been announced.

A statement from a public relations company coordinating the event issued the following statement Monday morning:

Due to unforeseen circumstances and reasons beyond our control, we are sorry to inform you that the "Plácido Domingo Le Canta a San Antonio" concert scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Alamodome has been postponed until further notice.

We are working closely with the Artist and his management to find a suitable date to reprogram the concert, and as soon as the new date is found and confirmed we will immediately inform the audience.

We are committed to delivering the best quality performance experience for the audience and we deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused by this postponement.

Original ticket purchases will be honored on the rescheduled date, or refunds can be requested at the point of sale.
