Several events honor legendary artist Frida Kahlo this weekend

Weekend Wrap of events for July 15-16

SAN ANTONIO – This weekend is another busy one with plenty of music, soccer and the celebration of Frida Kahlo. 

Here are some of the events going on this weekend:

Art Party: Red, White and Blue: This will take place at the San Antonio Museum of Art from 6 to 8 p.m. You can enjoy live jazz music, gallery tours and cocktails. Admission is free.

Kill This Fest: This music festival features 23 metal bands at The Amp Room. The festival is on both Friday and Saturday. Tickets are still available. 

Frida Fest: Over 50 artisan market vendors will be offering one-of-a-kind crafts and art in celebration of the 110th birthday of legendary Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. This will take place at the Wonderland of the Americas mall on Saturday.

Noche Azul: Frida & Esperanza: Both Saturday and Sunday will feature a musicial lineup honoring the life of Frida Kahlo with tangos and original songs. This takes place at the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center. 

Dancing With the Stars Live: The ABC hit show is on tour this summer. Ballroom dancers featured on the show will take the stage showcasing every type of dance. This will take place Saturday night at the Majestic Theatre. Tickets are still available.

Night in Old Fredericksburg: Celebrate the heritage of the Hill Country with live music, food, family fun entertainment and more on Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight. This will be located at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds. 

CONCACAF Gold Cups Games: The continental championship takes place every two years and the Alamodome will host two of the group games. Jamaica will take on El Salvador and Mexico will face Curacao. Both games take place on Sunday.
