Singing legend Tom Jones to play San Antonio's Majestic Theatre

'It's Not Unusual' singer's concert set for Oct. 4

1940: Singer Tom Jones, best known for such hits as "It's Not Unusual," "What's New Pussycat," "Delilah" and "She's a Lady," is born Thomas John Woodward in Treforest, Pontypridd, Wales.

SAN ANTONIO - It's not unusual for Tom Jones to play the Majestic Theatre.

In fact, the 77-year-old Welsh singing legend has been performing on stages for more than half a century.

Jones' Oct. 4 San Antonio date will feature a slew of hits across his storied career, including his aforementioned signature tune, "It's Not Unusual" and the Academy Award-nominated "What's New Pussycat?," along with "She's a Lady" and "Green, Green Grass of Home," among many others.

Jones was knighted by England's Queen Elizabeth II in 2006, and has received a host of other awards and honors for his contribution to music and culture in Great Britain and America.

Tickets for Jones' Majestic Theater show go on sale this Friday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Majestic Theatre Box Office, online at, or by phone at 800-745-3000. All tickets subject to applicable service charges and fees.
