Good morning parents, teachers and students!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Educators, it’s time to get excited because several businesses around San Antonio want to thank you for your hard work with deals and freebies. Here’s a list.

And parents, are you looking for a way to say thank you to a teacher? Well, look no further. Here are some creative ways to show appreciation, all while maintaining social distancing.

Recently, KSAT12 spoke with several San Antonio-area school district officials who said they are working on a plan to get students back in the classroom for the summer and fall semesters. To read the latest, click here.

In this week’s teacher spotlight, we highlight a Pre-K teacher from Holy Spirit Catholic School who really has gone above and beyond. She’s been teaching to her students in the driveways of the student’s homes.

KSAT12 meteorologist Sarah Spivey has a new science lesson for the week, this time covering the phases of the moon. It’s a great way learn some interesting facts.

A mother of two mindlessly picked up a paintbrush and started painting the cover of one of the books she had read to her children earlier in the day -- and said she incorporated some “cartoonified” coronavirus themes, to try to make the situation less scary.
