Preview: 2015 San Antonio Beer Week

Saturday, March 21 - Sunday, March 29

SAN ANTONIO – Grab a frosty mug: San Antonio Beer Week begins this Saturday.

In the past, our local beer week coincided with American Beer Week, but the Alamo City's beer scene has grown so large it can now stand on its own.

Now in its fifth year, San Antonio Beer Week will feature a variety of brews from small and independent craft brewers and retailers in celebration of our local beer culture.

Participating breweries include 5 Stones, Alamo Beer Company, Blue Star, Busted Sandal, Branchline, BS Brewing, Freetail, The Granary, Guadalupe Brewing, Boerne Brewery, New Braunfels Brewing, Pedernales, and Ranger Creek.

Local brewers will work together to concoct a special collaboration beer, which will be tapped at events throughout the week. And you'll even be able to drink it out of a commemorative glass on designated glass nights.

As for special events, there will be pub crawls, tap takeovers, educational seminars, special releases and, yes, beer dinners featuring well-paired brews and bites. There's even an event for your dog.

San Antonio Beer Week will officially kick off with opening ceremonies at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Main Plaza. Closing ceremonies will take place at The Pearl on Sunday, March 29, where all of the breweries will combine their talents and pour their signature suds.
