SAN ANTONIO – Run by the husband-and-wife team of Chef Eduardo and Ruth Ramos, the Leon Valley Cafe has become a very popular place to eat.
With only five tables, the small restaurant is all about its customers. The Ramoses make sure they greet each customer personally.
"That's what I love about this little place," Eduardo Ramos said. "The relationship we create when customers come in, you know they feel (at) home."
Eduardo Ramos made San Antonio his home 10 years ago after spending 14 years training in New York City. Starting as a dishwasher, he worked his way up to become an executive chef.
A year ago, he and his wife decided it was time to bring something new to Leon Valley.
"We noticed there was a lot of fast-food places and a lot of great Mexican restaurants, so we started to think what would be best for Leon Valley," he said.
The duo opened Leon Valley Cafe, serving up American contemporary-style food.
Eduardo Ramos' biggest passion is cooking. He and his wife run the small restaurant themselves. He takes care of the kitchen and she takes care of the front of the restaurant.
Every dish is made fresh and personally served by Eduardo Ramos. All of the desserts are made by Ruth Ramos.
The duo enjoy the close and personal style of their cafe and hope to keep it that way for years to come.
