SAN ANTONIO – Tacos can be found all over San Antonio, but Tacos and Tequila is setting itself apart by creating a gourmet taco.
It's been a year since Tacos and Tequila opened at 1915 Broadway, and since then, Chef Mario Garcia and his staff have been adding some extra flare to the way tacos are made.
Garcia began working in restaurants in 1999 and attended culinary school along the way. Each day, his passion for cooking can be seen in the food he creates.
"(I) try to make every single plate amazing, so when it gets to the table, you guys can remember that plate," he said.
The tacos aren't the average taco that you would find around San Antonio. Garcia transforms each one into a gourmet dish.
"It's really a nice presentation, and it's healthy items that we have here," Garcia said.
The trendy spot is also becoming a favorite to many, and when customers visit, they are not only treated to great food, but also a hip and cool vibe.
"They are going to come here and they are going to see the atmosphere. Our bar is incredible, our drinks are amazing. The food obviously is the best food in town," Garcia said.
