SAN ANTONIO - Flame grilled and packed with flavor is the best way to describe the burgers at Big Bob's Burgers.
Owner Bob Riddle opened up his restaurant a little over five years ago at 447 Hildebrand. What sets his place a part is all the burgers on the menu are flame grilled.
"The flame is where all the flavor comes from," Riddle said.
Right now, Riddle is serving a burger called the 50/50/50. The meat is made up of bacon, pork and angus-beef.
"We mix them all together, and they are fabulous," Riddle said.
Things weren't all that fabulous over a month ago, as Riddle was close to having to shut down the location. He issued a plea on Facebook and the post went viral.
"There was no gimmick to it," Riddle said. "I needed help and I didn't think it would work. But we're going to be okay I think."
Now Riddle wants to give back to everyone who has helped keep Big Bob's Burgers a place all of San Antonio can enjoy.
"I just want to help people, shake their hands and tell them thank you." he said.
