SAN ANTONIO - So many kinds of food can be found around San Antonio, but one you don't see too often is Colombian food. Sabor De Sanchez at 7664 Tezel Road is bringing traditional South American food to the Alamo City.
Daniel Molano and his wife opened up the restaurant almost four years ago. A native of Bogota, Daniel is focusing on common dishes served in Colombia.
"You are going to find the most traditional plate we have is known around the world as bandeja paisa," Molano said.
This plate includes a variety of food items: rice, beans, plantains, asada, chicharron, all with a fried egg on top.
Common Colombian street foods are also sold here like empanadas and arepas.
Arepas are similar to gorditas but they are made with white corn and melted cheese.
This small restaurant over the past couple of years has become the spot for many locals looking for something different to eat and for Colombians looking for a taste of home.
