Business showcases art of making, decorating artisan chocolates

Flavor Favs: Choicolate

SAN ANTONIO – When it comes to chocolates, Kristina Reynolds has mastered the art of making and decorating them.

About three years ago, Reynolds and her husband took over Choicolate, located at 700 E. Sonterra Blvd on the city's North Side.

At Choicolate, there are usually 22 flavors available, and each one is carefully decorated by hand.

"That's the artisan part here," Reynolds said. "I do put a lot of effort and decorate each truffle one by one."

As the chocolatier, Reynolds also makes each truffle with natural ingredients and only uses European chocolate.

"There's no other oils, other than cocoa butter in the chocolate, and it makes a big difference," Reynolds said.

With countdown on until Valentine's Day, Choicolate is still taking orders. There is no doubt these elegant treats will make a great gift for someone's sweetheart.
