SAN ANTONIO – A fun and exciting new restaurant in the 2600 block of Vance Jackson Road is becoming the spot to find the perfect burger.
Owner Christian Hawx went from being an insurance agent to now opening his own restaurant.
"I'm a risk taker," Hawx said. "I wanted to do something completely different."
The concept at Hawx Burger Bar is to take the burger to another level. Everything from cocktails to the buns are made fresh everyday. The beef used in the burgers is double grinded and then put into nitrogen.
"Oxygen is actually what browns meant, so the nitrogen actually is going to preserve it," Hawx said. "You get a much better tasting product."
The menu boasts options for everyone. For those with a big appetite there is the "Norteño Burger," but if you are a little more health conscious there is the "Lean and Mean Burger."
Besides the food, the environment is suitable to go watch a Spurs game or just hang out with friends.
"The Electro Lounge is energy," Hawx said. "You can kind of just come and hang out and have a good time."
