New North Side restaurant serves traditional Mexican cuisine

Flavor Favs: Sabor CocinaBar

SAN ANTONIO – What was once a dream is now a reality for Federico Guillen, the owner of Sabor CocinaBar, located at 5313 McCullough Avenue.

"I've always worked in the restaurant business for years, so I had it on my mind to open a business," Guillen said.

Since it opened five months ago, the restaurant has become a huge success because of the food being served.

"Real Mexican food, with a little bit of an American twist," Guillen said.

One item worth ordering from the menu is the chilaquiles.

"We offer real Mexican chilaquiles with different sauces," Guillen said. Sauce options include rojo, bravo, chiptoles and a mixture of any two in a plate called divorciados.

The dinner menu also showcases an array of enchilada plates, fish or shrimp tacos and chicken plates topped with your choice of sauce.

Open Tuesday through Sunday, this restaurant is perfect for the entire family and will satisfy your craving for Mexican food.
