What's your favorite food truck in town?

Flavor Favs: Big Guido's Food Truck

SAN ANTONIO – An Italian family from New York is showing San Antonio true Italian cooking all from inside a food truck. The Acerra's moved to San Antonio over four years ago and decided it was time for a change.

"He (husband) was working a job in computers and I was working in the nonprofit sector, and he was kind of miserable," Amelia Acerra said.

The two would consult with their family and decide food was their passion, and so they invested into a food truck.

Since then you can find the Big Guido's truck cruising all around town.

"We have five kids and both of our mothers live with us, so we all kind of started this together," Acerra said.

Inside the truck is a gem. The family found the truck with a brick oven built inside, perfect for making New York-style pizza.

Also on the menu are different kinds of pastas, Italian sandwiches and meatballs.

The Acerra family plans on continuing to serve its food around the city and be a part of the growing food truck scene.

"We've actually really come to love the food truck scene." Acerra said. "I think San Antonio just now is starting to really receive it and there's a lot of great trucks out there."

Here's a list of food truck parks around town:

1. The Point Park & Eats - 24188 Boerne Stage Rd.

2. Alamo Eat Street Bar - 609 S. Alamo St.

3. The Block SA - 14530 Roadrunner Way
