SAN ANTONIO – If you are looking to get out of the house this weekend, there is a lot of stuff to do that won’t cost you a thing, including a couple of things for the kids.
Home Depot is holding a kids workshop on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon, where kids will create and keep their own firehouse coin bank. After they build it, they can decorate it however they want with paint and stickers. In addition to the bank, the kids will get a certificate of achievement, a workshop apron, and a pin.
Barnes and Noble is hosting a free “Make and Take” event Saturday afternoon, starting at 4 p.m., to celebrate the Lego "Ninjago" movie. After building the Green Dragon Mini Model (as seen in the movie), take it home.
It’s that time of year again for Bank of America and Merrill Lynch card-holders. You can enjoy free admission to area museums. All you need is one the aforementioned cards and a photo ID and you’re in. Local participating museums include the Doseum, the Witte, and McNay Art Museum. Check the website for details.
While the weather is fading into fall, there are still free outdoor movies to enjoy.
Two options this Saturday:
"The Sandlot" is showing at Yanaguana Gardens. If you haven’t seen it, you can finally find out why people around you say, “You’re killing me, Smalls.”
Don’t care about kids playing baseball and steering clear of a giant dog? How about a kid and giant dragon? "Pete’s Dragon" is showing at the Mission Marquee Plaza.
Showtime for both movies is around 7 p.m.
