SAN ANTONIO – A second mosquito has tested positive for West Nile virus, Bexar County officials said Friday.
According to a news release, the mosquito was discovered in an unincorporated area of northwestern Bexar County north of Shaenfield Road outside of Loop 1604.
This is the second mosquito to test positive for the virus found in September and to be found in the same area, county spokeswoman Monica Ramos said.
Bexar County Public Works will continue to treat the area with a series of mosquito abatement efforts and treatments, Ramos said.
Residents are urged to use mosquito repellent and wear protective clothing when they are outdoors.
