Decorate: A great way to remind your family that the holidays are approaching is to put up decorations. These can add a festive look to your home and serve as a reminder that this isn't just any ordinary time of the year.

Bake: Baking some traditional holiday goodies both taste good and can serve as a tradition that reminds your children why the holidays are special.

Look at holiday displays: Driving around with the kids in the car – maybe even bringing along some hot cocoa – and looking at Christmas lights and holiday displays is a great way to get your family into the holiday spirit. You can even play holiday songs in the car as you drive around.

Make holiday crafts: Getting your children involved in preparing for the holidays will help get them excited. Consider finding fun arts and crafts projects your kids can create and can be displayed around the house.

Go shopping: Like it or not, shopping is a big part of the holidays. But shopping can also be a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Malls tend to be filled with holiday music, decorations, and even Santa!

Watch Holiday Movies: If your family is fighting the holiday spirit, maybe they can catch it through watching some classic holiday movies, such as "It's a Wonderful Life" or "Miracle on 34th Street."
