HOUSTON – 'Tis the season for scary movies.

This spooky holiday can get you in the mood to watch horror flicks.

When you think of a horror movie, a movie that makes you jump or keeps you up in the middle of the night, which movie immediately comes to mind?

We're narrowing down the best movies to watch to get you in the spirit of the season.

"The Exorcist" is a classic. Released in 1973, this movie almost guarantees to freak anyone out. Linda Blair played a 12-year-old girl who was possessed by demons. Her mother seeks help through exorcism.

Blair's performance is a memorable one, particularly in the scene when the priest performs the exorcism. Scared yet?

Perhaps the most popular scary movie to watch on Halloween is the move "Halloween." The film was released in 1978 and is about Michael Myers, who kills his sister and is sentenced to jail. He later escapes and starts a killing spree in the town of Haddonfield, Illinois while wearing that infamous white mask.

And speaking of mask, you can't talk about scary movies without mentioning "Friday the 13th." The slasher series is about Jason Voorhees who drowned as a little boy at Camp Crystal Lake.

Voorhees comes back to stalk and murder camp counselors at the same place where he drowned.
