Patients at Children's Methodist celebrate Halloween early

Staff dressed up, passed out candy

SAN ANTONIO – A special visitor greeted children at Methodist Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, just in time for Halloween.

The staff at the hospital dressed in costume and threw a parade for the children who will be spending the night, not out trick-or-treating but instead at the hospital.

Children were able to get the all-important candy as staff worked to put a smile on their faces.

“I don’t know who's more excited, the kids or staff or the patients' families,” Caitlin Pearce, director of child life services, said. “We all absolutely love it and go above and beyond so these kiddos can have a great Halloween."

Even their certified facility therapy dog, Hazel, got into the Halloween spirit by dressing up as well.
